how to crochet cute bunny holding a heart/strawberry | easy mini plushie tutorial and free pattern


Hi everyone! This is the written pattern for my youtube tutorial. Please remember to mark the first stitch of every round with a stitch marker or bobby pin and refer to the video tutorial for demonstrations.

Abbreviations/notes:

ss- slip stitch / sc - single crochet / increase - 2 sc in the same stitch / decrease - invisible decrease by sc 2 stitches together / stitch counts are in brackets (X) after each round

Start every piece with a magic ring and chain 1 (ignore the chain because it doesn't count as a stitch!). End every piece by slip stitching the marked stitch, chain 1, then cut and pull to fasten off.

1. Head

Round 1: 6 sc

Round 2: 2 sc in every stitch (12)

Round 3: 1 sc, increase (18)

Round 4: 2 sc, increase (24)

Round 5 to 8: 1 sc in every stitch (24 stitches in each round)

Round 9: 2 sc, decrease (18)

Round 10: 1 sc, decrease (12)

2. Legs (make 2 - fasten off the first leg, continue the body with the second leg)

Round 1: 6 sc

Round 2: 2 sc in every stitch (12)

Round 3 and 4: 1 sc in every stitch (12 in each round)

3. Body 

Round 5: 1 sc in every stitch (24 in total around both legs)

Round 6 and 7: 1 sc in every stitch (24 in each round)

Round 8: 2 sc, decrease (18)

Round 9: 1 sc in every stitch (18)

Round 10: 1 sc, decrease (12)

Round 11: 1 sc in every stitch (12)

4. Arms/hands (make 2)

Round 1: 6 sc

Round 2, 3, and 4: 1 sc in every stitch (6 in each round)

Sc 2 through the stitches at the top to close the hole

5. Long ears (make 2)

Round 1: 6 sc

Round 2: 2 sc in every stitch (12)

Round 3 to 8: 1 sc in every stitch (12 in each round)

Round 9: 1 sc, decrease (8)

Round 10 to 12: 1 sc in every stitch (8 in each round)

Sc 3 through the stitches at the top to close the hole

6. Heart

Repeat the steps below twice to make two sides of the heart (fasten off the first, continue from the second): 

Round 1: 6 sc

Round 2: 1 sc in every stitch (6)

Connect the two pieces with a sc through both stitches...

Round 3: 1 sc in every stitch (12 in total around both pieces)

Round 4: 1 sc in every stitch (12)

Round 5: 6 decreases

Decrease until the hole closes, ss, then fasten off

7. Strawberry 

Round 1: 6 sc

Round 2: 1 sc, increase (9)

Round 3: 2 sc, increase (12)

Round 4: 1 sc in every stitch (12)

Round 5: 2 sc, decrease (9)

8. Leaves

Make a magic ring and chain 3, skip the 1st chain then sc into the next 2 stitches, ss into the magic ring

Repeat these steps 3 to 4 more times to make more leaves: chain 3, skip the 1st chain then sc into the next 2 stitches, ss into the magic ring

You can find the demonstration/steps for rounds 1-5 and  how to read this pattern and make the stitches in my youtube tutorial .
